Aberdeen Harbour, part of the Southern District, is located at Hong Kong at the south shore of the Hong Kong Island. It is a harbor between Ap Lei Chau and Aberdeen.
In 1845, Aberdeen was named after the British Secretary of State for War and the Colonies, George Hamilton-Gordon, 4th Earl of Aberdeen.
The place is celebrated to tourists for the “boat people” living in the harbor and the floating seafood restaurants.
Indigenously Aberdeen is known as Heung Kong Tsai, or Hong Kong Tsai, which means “Hong Kong Minor”, and is believed where the name of Hong Kong originates.
